Interview by Melissa Kil
Doctor P recently released a two-track EP called ‘Show Me Love / Snakes & Ladders’. Lately, he has been busy with new and innovative individual projects following Party Drink Smoke produced in collaboration with close friend Flux Pavilion. With every new release, Doctor P continues to solidify himself as a godfather of modern bass music and he’s already received support for his new tracks from industry leaders such as Dillon Francis, SKisM, Excision, 12th Planet and more. EDMLA’s Melissa Kil got a chance to ask a few quick questions with Doctor P following his headlining Bassrush show at Exchange LA with Dirtyphonics.
What has been your favorite part of this tour?
So far, I think Exchange in LA was the highlight. The crowd was so energetic, and the sound system in the venue is really good.
I’m lucky to have played pretty much every event I’ve ever wanted to play. There are always new festivals popping up every year, so there’s always somewhere new to look forward to playing.
My studio pc is also a gaming pc, so I spend a lot of time doing that when I should probably be making music. Aside from that, I play with my son and browse dank memes for several hours a day.
I watch a lot of YouTube so I’ve been thinking about the possibility starting some kind of YouTube channel. The main factor is my lack of free time, but I’ve got lots of ideas, so we’ll see what happens.
