Review: Soulection’s ESTA @ Control

This past Friday, January 15th, DJ and producer, ESTA, curated Soulection’s takeover of Control at the Avalon. Unlike your typical night at Control, this event, brought by the tastemaker music collective, was a one of a kind. Ever since Soulection announced their partnership with Beats & Apple Music, for their weekly Radio Show on Beats 1 Radio, I’ve been eager to attend one of their events.
ESTA showcased his talent as a DJ during his set and it was superb, to say the least. From Hudson Mowhawke to J Dilla, ESTA’s influences can be heard throughout his music. His seamless ability to blend dance grooves, hip-hop beats, and electronic sounds kept all fans dancing through his entire performance. The entire crowd on the dance floor kept grooving to every live mashup ESTA threw at them, but they completely lost it when he dropped Alina Baraz’s Paradise. The whole place completely lit up.
Check it out here:

Good vibes with @soulection ‘s very own @beatsbyesta. @control_la @avalonhollywood
